Moreover, although the author explains why in the book, the girls don’t mourn their sisters enough, or at least they don’t seem to care. I thought that there was going to be some major kick-ass sisters teaming together to beat the so-called evil, but at the end, the evil just kinda went away. Also, the way the plot came to a conclusion was so disappointing. Nearing the end the story got tangled up and I couldn’t follow it very well, I’m honestly still a little confused about it. I was lost most of the time and at other moments I didn’t care for what the girls were doing at all. I just don’t think this story was for me. Is not a bad story, matter of fact, I thought the writing was beautiful and coherent and the story was consistent. I honestly don’t know how to write a review for this book. In the midst of all that, they go dancing, like every night and they go through many of their shoes. And on the death of the seventh sister, Annaleigh starts asking questions and looking deeper into her sisters’ deaths and to why are they dying. The entire town believes the family is cursed because death keeps surrounding the family. Like, the main theme of this book is death, sister after sister keeps dying until there are only seven and now, told from Annaleigh’s perspective we get to experience the sorrow and mourning of the rest of the sisters while we all wonder who’s next. House of Salt and Sorrow is an eerie retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses.
